Wedding garters seem to come in so many different styles and price ranges that I was overwhelmed when I first started shopping for my wedding garter set.  I narrowed my selections down to luxury wedding garters.

I found this wedding garter set that has  a fabulous  flounce of embroidered lace.  Even the name was great-Anticipation- which is what I will feel while waiting for the garter ceremony at my reception.  My groom will have a keepsake garter that is a real cut above the standard garter and I know he will cherish it and love it as much as I do.

I needed a wedding garter  to complete my something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.  Since blue was not one of my colors I felt that wedding garter sets was the place for me to find this important item.

I decided to go with wedding garter sets as I wanted my new husband to have his own garter.  I found wedding garter sets in various shades of blue and since I am traditional and trendy at the same time I picked a set in royal blue.  I think my husband will love the “double dive” for the garter and will enjoy teasing all his friends when he gets his garter first and puts it on his arm before he finally goes after the toss garter.

The origin of wedding garters is uncertain, but in medieval times it was a hazard to the bride as the male guests became drunken and tried to remove her garters.  Wedding garters today are a part of the wedding reception and is the part of the party that the groom and male guests revel in.

Todays wedding garters usually come in sets of a keepsake and a toss garter so that the groom has a garter of his own besides “tossing” a garter into the group of male guests.  Wedding garters come in a wide variety of colors and prints.  If your guy is an outdoors type, why not surprise him with a camoflage wedding garter set.

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue is the age old rhyme for brides when they are assembling their dress and accessories for their wedding day.

Wedding garter sets that are blue fulfill this part of the rhyme admirably-especially if blue is not one of the brides colors.  Wedding garter sets are hidden under the gown to be revealed later during the wedding reception and this is the part of the party that the guys just love.  Look at wedding garter sets that come in different shades of blue such as royal blue or turquoise besides the traditional light blue.  If you are a bride who only wants a touch of blue we are showing a wedding garter set that has a small tuxedo bow on each of the garters.  After all, the groom will want his own garter besides the garter he will “toss”.

Bridal garter sets are usually found in sets of two.  Choosing a bridal garter set that has a matching hankerchief is perfect for the bride who might shed a few tears.

Bridal garter sets that have the matching handerchief are affordable and easily found online.  A bride will not want to carry a tissue on her big day and this is the perfect solution.  It looks much nicer to have a cloth rather than a tissue and will become part of the brides keepsakes.

Grooms tend not to be as involved in all the planning of the wedding day.  Their big part of the wedding reception is the garter toss.

Bridal  garter sets  used to be a traditional blue for that “something blue” but now are just about any color and style.  Your groom will be surprised with a non-traditional wedding garter set that may be a wild animal print or camoflage.  Bridal  garter sets will also give your groom his own keepsake besides having a garter to toss to the male guests.
