Of all your wedding ceremony accessories, unity candle sets have the most profound meaning.  Unity candle sets are used to show the joining of two lives into one.

Unity candle sets are composed of a pillar candle and two tapers.  These sets range from very plain to the hand carved set such as the one we are showing on the left.  A tall handcarved pillar will show that this part of your wedding ceremony is very special to you and a candle such as this will last for many hours and can be used in your new home for those intimate dinners you will share together.

Scheduling your wedding supplies purchasing will avoid a large expenditure at the last minute.  Think about buying non perishable items long before your wedding day and leave the flowers, cake and sweets for your favors for later.

Unity candle sets and unity candle holders are one othe items you could purchase months before your wedding.  Shopping online will also save you time and gas money.  Unity candle sets are available in many different styles and one of the more spectacular are the hand carved sets.  A unity candle set that is hand carved especially says “wedding” since they have entwined hearts as part of the carving.

Choosing Your Unity Candle

Are you having a unity candle lighting as part of your ceremony?  This is a unique and momentous way of symbolizing your love for each other.

Choosing your unity candle will reflect your tastes.  A hand carved candle shows that your love is unique and special.   A solid pillar decorated with specialty ribbon decoration may be just the ticket for you.  Unity candles that have a verse inscribed in them do not usually show up as well for the guests  as a decorated unity candle or hand carved candle.  Your unity candle holder can be a 3 in 1 holder or 3 separate pieces that you will be able to use after the ceremony in your new home.

Choosing your unity candle set will depend on the type of ceremony that you are having.  A candle with a verse on it will not be able to be read by the guests.  Instead a unity candle set that is decorated with ribbon embellishments or is extravagantly hand carved will make more of an impact.

A unity candle set that has a satin bow with other embellishments on it is a cost effective way to add this important statement to your ceremony.  Hand carved unity candle sets are more costly and more often used in a formal setting.  Either way, your wedding will be a day to remember the joining of two lives as one.

sd530832Recently I attended a wedding with a different twist on the unity candle lighting. When the mothers of the bride and groom walked in they went to the alter and lighted the two tapers at the beginning of the entire ceremony. It was a special moment to include both of the mothers in the ceremony.

Unity candles usually come in a set of the tall pillar and two tapers that the bride and groom will light the pillar with to show the joining of two lives. Unity candles can be hand carved extravaganzas to the simple candles that are decorated with ribbon bows. Unity candles are a wonderful way of showing that you are becoming a team.

sdc11167In planning your wedding ceremony you will want to decide whether you want traditional vows or write your own. Incorporating a unity candle into your ceremony will further state the commitment that you and your bridegroom are making to each other.

A unity candle set will fill the bill nicely with the central pillar candle and the two tapers to match it. Hand carved unity candle sets add a flair and uniqueness to your big day.
