sd531556Almost all weddings today have a flower girl in them. Most people don’t know that this custom is from medieval times when a young girl preceded the Bride AND Groom and spread grain in front of them for fertility and prosperity.

Flower Girl Baskets today don’t carry grain-they have flower petals instead. Usually the petals are silk rose petals. The flower girl precedes the Bride only and sprinkles the rose petals down the aisle. Flower girl baskets come in so many different styles from casual felt cones to beautiful satin covered baskets. When choosing your flower girl baskets be sure to keep in mind the age of your flower girl and choose a basket appropriate to her size.
