Lighting the Candles

Recently I attended a wedding with a different twist on the unity candle lighting. When the mothers of the bride and groom walked in they went to the alter and lighted the two tapers at the beginning of the entire ceremony. It was a special moment to include both of the mothers in the ceremony.
Unity candles usually come in a set of the tall pillar and two tapers that the bride and groom will light the pillar with to show the joining of two lives. Unity candles can be hand carved extravaganzas to the simple candles that are decorated with ribbon bows. Unity candles are a wonderful way of showing that you are becoming a team.
